Joe Benvenuto

Joe B. comes to us with an illustrious baseball career, especially at the youth travel and all star levels. Joe played in the 10 yr old AABC World Series in Hapeville, GA and the 12 yr old AABC World Series in Atlanta, GA, both for his Brooklyn, NY travel teams, where he was a star pitcher and hitter on both teams. Upon moving to New City, NY at 12 yrs old, Joe played majors for New City Little League for one year, where he registered a 16 strikeout game and 2 no-hitters. At 13, Joe was the star catcher on the Rockland All Stars who made it to state championship game. At 16 yrs old, Joe was the center-fielder for the Rockland All Star team which won the District 7, NY State and Middle Atlantic Regional Championship, advancing to the 1994 16yr Babe Ruth World Series in Carmel, Indiana. In the semi-finals, a 16yr old Marlon Byrd hit one almost 400ft and over Joe’s head, clearing the bases. Almost 20 years later, Joe rekindled that event with Marlon Byrd at Citi Field. The Rockland All Stars wound up finishing 4th in the country, and are considered the best All Star team to ever come out of Rockland County.

Joe started at 3rd base and batted 1st for the Clarkstown South Vikings. In his senior year, the Vikings made it to the Section championship game for the first time ever and lost 2-1 to North Rockland, who went on to win the state championship. Joe scored the lone run in that game. Joe also tied for the Section title that year in home runs with 4 with Jeff Becker. Upon graduating, Joe received many scholarships including Division 1 Manhattan College, Stevens Institute, RPI, Binghamton University, etc.

Joe’s dad was a long time All Stars and Travel manager in Rockland County, having great success throughout the years. Joe started his coaching career 4 years ago at the T-ball level. Two seasons ago in his first season with playoffs and a championship, he took his AA Bulls team in New City Little League to a championship. Last year, Joe took his AAA Royals team in New City Little League to a final game in the championship series and came up just short 2-0 in an unbelievable final game for 10 yr olds. Joe was also the manager for the 9yr old New City Little League All Stars two years ago and the manager for the 11yr old New City Little League All Stars last year.

During the 4 years, Joe has developed a tremendous following amongst the parents and has become a very sought after manager. Joe has played with and against the best players in the country over his career. He was a stand-out superstar for most of his baseball years, who received top training throughout his career, including pitching from Frank Eufemia (pitched for the Twins) and hitting from Joe Wladycka. Joe brings a winning and positive mentality, along with all of his personal experiences to the organization. He teaches the kids to love the game, how to handle adversity, how to reach your maximum, and most importantly, playing confidently. When you win, you win with class and when you lose, you tip your hat and come back stronger the next day.
